The initial brief for Specialized Korea’s collaboration with illustrator Seol Dongju was still open. After reviewing the key artwork, we proposed animating the characters themselves instead of limiting the teaser to supporting logo and object motion.

Project story
One illustration, a cast of moving characters and a reusable motion system.
We reconstructed the illustration in After Effects, preserving its linework and expressions, then rigged and animated the characters.
Logo, type and transition elements were also rendered with transparent backgrounds for use in later teasers and interviews.
- Illustration reconstructed into animatable shapes and character rigs
- Character and typography animation that retained the original drawing style
- Transparent motion assets for teasers, interviews and event screens

We rebuilt the characters and letters as shape layers so expressions, joints and forms could move deliberately, beyond simply shifting a flat image.

Timing and movement were chosen to suit the illustration’s lines and expressions. Each letter of Ready to Paint received its own action, retaining the artwork’s lively character.

The teaser’s logo, characters, type and transitions were separated into transparent assets. These could be recombined for follow-up teasers and interview films while keeping the campaign’s visual continuity.
