Buckaroo — RIDE & TIDE

Project story

From an open brief to a ride above the city.

01
The brief

Buckaroo’s 25FW campaign paired the theme RIDE & TIDE with motorcycle imagery and outdoor advertising. The specific CG scenes had yet to be defined.

02
The approach

We proposed storyboards that made the outdoor screens part of the ride. The approved direction guided the paths, speed and framing.

Geometry Nodes kept the road consistent across shots, alongside character animation, clothing simulation and screen compositing.

03
Our scope
  • CG direction and storyboard proposals for a 28-second vertical FOOH film
  • 3D road, rider and motorcycle animation with clothing simulation
  • Drone-camera tracking and selected live-action composites

Direction

Finding the route through the campaign

We explored the initial theme and mood, then developed a ride that drew attention to the outdoor advertising rather than competing with it.

Storyboard

Checking the film in the storyboard

The storyboard established the CG concept, the motorcycle’s emergence from the screen and the sequence of key shots before production.

Production

Building the road and the rider

A procedural road system kept the geometry consistent. Character and motorcycle rigs, clothing simulation and tracked live-action cameras brought the animation together with the screen replacements.

Vertical composition

Composed for a vertical frame

The road, character movement and object scale were designed for the vertical format from the start, rather than cropped from a horizontal film.
